Weather update

As much as it pains me to write this, it looks like weather.com’s 60% chance of rain today was a bit more accurate than the National Weather Service’s 20%. The rain did hold off until early afternoon, though, so I have to give NWS props for giving me enough hope that I decided to work on the land this morning rather than sitting in a dark room somewhere in the fetal position and rocking back and forth. As Michele so helpfully pointed out, actually working was a little more productive.

I went out after work and did more water management. I finally figured out an effective way to string up the tarp. It held up during the rain and wind today, and I went out after work and corrected a few places where the water was collecting on the tarp. I also got soaking wet completing the ditch carrying water away from the foundation. Not much of a slope on the building site, so the ditch ended up much longer than I had hoped. What a sense of satisfaction when I finally got it low enough that the water drained out of the long, skinny, shallow pond that I had created.

Oh, and it snowed very briefly this morning. Seeing that was a nice little treat.
